Measurement of Attractive Eyeliner Styles by Eyelid Shape Using Eyeliner Models（アイラインモデルを用いた瞼形状別の魅力的なアイラインスタイルの測定）
A makeup method called “eyeliner” can make the eyes appear larger, making the face more attractive. Since eyelid shapes of Asian women are categorized as “double,” “hooded,” and “single,” we assumed that the most attractive eyeliner to make the eyes appear larger would be different for each eyelid shape. In this paper, we quantitatively measured the length and the thickness of eyeliner (eyeliner style) that make the eyes appear the largest without any sense of incongruity for each eyelid shape and investigated whether the eyeliner style leads to increased attractiveness. The measurement was conducted using digital makeup with eyeliner models devised in this study. The results showed that the eyeliner style that can make the eyes appear the largest without any sense of incongruity and the most attractive eyeliner style were equivalent for each eyelid shape. Furthermore, it was suggested that excessive eyeliner style may reduce attractiveness.
